We've Got Videos!

Here are three videos, one of Brooks laughing, playing in his jumparoo, and squealing. Enjoy!

Brooks is 4 months old!!

Thighs
At 4 months, Brooks weighs 18lbs, 15oz, which is basically 19lbs. That means he gained 7 lbs in 2 months!!! He also grew to 26.5 inches, which is 3 more inches than before. Pretty soon, this boy will be taller than his Mamma.

Helping Dad Work
Brooks has emerged in his finest form as the cutest and happiest baby on the block. Often we wake up to him squealing and testing out his voice. While playing on his mat he often talks to his birdy and owl and squeals with delight as he reaches and pulls his ring towards his mouth. He has found his hands to be of great use as he now reaches out to touch our face.
Birdy love

He is interested in everything around him, following his parents as they walk by, pulling back while being held to see the world. When not squealing, he is quietly observing the world from the little baby bjorn, holding his hands and pondering the sites and activity around him. And being at a boarding school there is plenty of activity.

Brooks brought his Dad's lacrosse team good luck this week, as they won their second game! Brooks was there to cheer on the team, and cheer he did. He loves lacrosse!

Nina and Brooks
During the week, Brooks had his first official play date with Nina! He is already going after the older women (her birthday is in September). She was so excited to see Brooks, she laughed and laughed and spun her little feet and hands trying to capture Brooks' attention. Brooks wasn't sure what to think, but he enjoyed sitting in her Bumbo nonetheless. Nina was able to get some hand holding in in the end.

Sleep

Heads Up!
Brooks has been showing off his new strength during tummy time, lifting his head with his arms, and finding the whole experience slightly less frustrating these days. When not on his tummy, he is often found playing with his birdie ring, which he has mastered grabbing, pulling, and sucking on. He is often inspired by the bird and the ring to fits of babbling and high pitched squealing. Yes, Brooks has found his voice! In fact, Brooks is happy to use his voice at any time of the day or night. Mom has been woken up by little Brooks babbling in his co-sleeper.

Just like Mom
When Brooks does sleep, it turns out he sleeps just like his Momma, hands up! And because he has resumed his nightly wakings as of late, he is often zonked out during the day, like here on his pillows.

Baby Gear and Red Sox

Like Father Like Son
Remember the BeGreen Consignment  I mentioned in the last entry? Thought you might want to see Brooks sporting his gear! Brooks loves his Bumbo as it helps him sit up like a big boy, while he can't quite do it by himself yet. It even allows him to enjoy things like watching the Red Sox with his Dad :)!

My Bumbo

One of Brooks's favorite activities these days is the Jumparoo. The lights and music come on as he jumps, which provides never ending entertainment for Brooks, and some hands free time for Mom. So far the music hasn't gotten too annoying yet, it's an easy price to pay for the smile that pops on that handsome face! Brooks is so proud of his new skills!!!

3 Months Old

Brooks is well into his third month and is getting bigger (fatter) and more enjoyable every second! Most importantly he is settling into a routine, which makes Mom very happy. As the weather has gotten warmer, Brooks and Mom have been taking multiple walks outside around the campus of St. George's School. Sometimes we stroll with the baby bjorn and sometimes we stroll in, well, the stroller of course!

Over Easter weekend, Grandma Pat and Ian came to visit. Together we walked the Cliff Walk and strolled past the famous mansions of Newport! Brooks got a lot of good quality napping in during their visit, too! We were hoping to watch Dad coach another home lacrosse game but sadly it was cancelled. That's ok though because Brooks got to see him coach the JV boys against Brooks of all schools! I promise we didn't name Brooks after that boarding school.

This past weekend, Mom took Brooks to the BeGreen Consignment sale and bought Brooks a Bumbo seat and a Jumper!!! Brooks has made it very clear that he enjoys sitting up like a big boy and jumping and standing too. Unfortunately his body isn't quite caught up with his desires so these things help him in the interim. And boy does he LOVE his jumparoo! He even laughs at the elephant and the lights and music that come on as he jumps.

Milestones - well Brooks has officially rolled over, twice from belly to his back. Mom was there to see it all and to cheer him on. It won't be long now before he is rolling all over the house! Brooks also is mastering the use of his hands, grabbing hair, glasses, and rattles. And while he can bring them to his mouth to try and suck on, which sucking is his new hobby, he hasn't quite learned that he has to continue holding on. In time.
