2 Months Old

Brooks is now two months old and wearing 3-6 month old clothing! My what a big boy. Monday was his Dr. appointment and he weighed 12lbs 14 ounces, and I swear if we had gone in the very next day he would have weighed in at 13 lbs. Yesterday, Mom went through his closet and pulled out all the clothes that no longer fit. Sadly, there were some cute things that he never even got to wear!

Two months is a milestone that has its good and bad. The bad was having to get 3 shots at the Dr.'s full of vaccines. He cried and cried and cried. So hard for the little guy. The good was being able to have just a little bit more fun. Already he has grabbed Dad's pen and Mom's hair. He coos and talks to the owl. He is working on sticking out his little tongue trying to mimic Mom.

The Chair Project: 8 weeks

8 weeks!

OK, here is the second round of chair project pictures showing off Brooks at 8 weeks! Even if it is hard to see his change in size, notice how alert he is in these pictures! What a cutie.

8 Weeks

Brooks has grown so much in the past week and has matured, as babies do. He has happily entered into the more quiet alert phase rather than being "fussy" alert. However, he seems to be sleeping less - in the night that is, which makes for one tired mom.

With his Dad home, Brooks has been introduced to the bottle, which he has successfully taken from the start. Dad enjoys the bonding time with Brooks as well. This will help free Mom up at times, without her having to worry about having a starving son at home.

Brooks also received the coolest gift from his Mom - the treehouse friends activity gym. The gym came with dangling friends - owl, squirrel, and birdies, all of whom Brooks likes to look at and smile and laugh. As the weeks move on,we hope he will find many moments of fun with this gym, where he will learn tons of developmental skills! In the meantime, we are just hoping he learns the skill of  - sleep!

Holy Cuteness

Beary Cute

While there is not much to say about Mr. Brooks this week, there are plenty of cute pictures to post and share. Each day goes by with the usual routine - eating, playing, pooping, sleeping. And add to that some fussing.

Sweet dreams
Brooks enjoys daily walks sometimes with Lila. Now that Colin is on Spring Break he gets at least one hour of bonding/walking time with his Dad while Mom works out. Brooks usually goes walking in his bear outfit which keeps him nice and toasty.

And who says boy clothes aren't cute? Doesn't everyone wish their clothes had a robot reindeer on them? And he's even sporting some clothes that are fancier (and more expensive) than his parents' clothes. Check out his cute onesie from Paris!

At one point Brooks embraced the Moses basket, one of the rare times that he will sleep without being held, although he is getting better about separation in the past week.

Finally, here is Brooks during one of his happy moments. What a great smile! Too bad you can't hear the sweet sounds that accompany this smile.

That's so funny!

So funny!

6 Weeks!!!

All Hail the Swing!

Brooks is 6 weeks old now and it feels like such a milestone. I swear he knows he is this old too, because yesterday he was more alert and ready to do new things, like suck on his hands and fingers, and swing! It took him awhile to like the swing but as long as we have EVERY function running - swing, vibrate, and music (that his Dad LOVES), he is somewhat at ease. He even took his first nap in the swing, which made Mom smile! Brooks lifted his head the highest yet during tummy time, and Mom even caught it on camera.

Heads Up

Yum
Brooks was introduced to his crib yesterday and he seemed to like it. He doesn't sleep in it of course but he doesn't cry either! Instead he stares at the lovely blue walls and of course -sucks on his hands. He also is making more sounds, which really came out during crib time, and I think it means we are at the very beginnings of the "cooing" phase.Little early still, but hey, he's a genius right?
